I had this catalog! I remember feeling awfully jealous of all those lucky bastards who had computers and could play these, and the sickening bafflement over the technical terms.

I actually got a computer that year, an IBM PC. But there were very few games produced for it initially, and little or no ports of AI games. IBM itself did sell a version of ADVENTURE (Collosal Cave), and Infocom started ports.

I remember my first introduction to Scott Adams adventures, it was Christmas morning 1982 when I unwrapped my VIC 20, datasette and two great cartridges called Adventure Land and Pirates Cove. I was hook ever since. I created a tribute site to the Scott Adams adventure series which can be found at www.alphaworks.com.au/scottadams

Man, I loved those Scott Adams games. I remember learning what the phrase "flotsam and jetsam" meant from Pirate Adventure. Ah, the good old days.

Ah, Scott Adams... fond memories of introducing people around me to adventure games on the ZX Spectrum, and exchanging Spiderman tips over the phone with my best friend at the time. Still my best friend, come to think of it, 23 years on. :)

I'm sure you saw <a href="http://www.crashonline.org.uk/15/adams.htm" rel="nofollow">this interview</a>?
