Zork Stained Glass Window

I’ve been getting photos and contributions from people either inspired by GET LAMP or figuring I’d want to see something related to text adventures they have in their possession.  I appreciate this very, very much. This falls into the latter camp.

Todd Gaines tells me that he and a  friend did this in 1983, making one for each of them and utilizing actual stained glass. This is an actual stained glass window!

This is an example of the kind of inspiration text adventures brought out that I was worried might have been forgotten.  Great job, Todd!

That utterly kicks ass! Yep, text adventures remain inspirational to creativity as much as books are. I can feel a painting or drawing coming on…!

Speaking of inspiration… After watching the documentary for the first time yesterday, I’m jazzed about including newly-created IF with my band’s first EP release. I’ll have to familiarize myself with what’s out there and find a good resource for building a small IF universe. Has that ever been done before? If not for a band, how about general cross-media promotions including IF? Seems like that might be a great market for the medium.

Not quite the same, but I do still have a “New Zork Times” T-shirt around here somewhere, still in its plastic wrapping. I won it in a Status Line contest once, back in, oh, 1983… I accidentally specified a shirt too small for me, so I never wore it. Now I just have to find it…
